Favorite Things I Like About Canton South

One of the first things that come to mind is the "convenience" that the Canton South area offers. One of the most sought after conveniences for many home owners is the proximity to major highways, medical facilities, dining, and shopping. With Interstate 77 brushing against the northern edge of Canton South, the statement: "You are just minutes to wherever you want to go" is so true. Regardless in which area of Canton South you live, there is relatively rapid access to either Route 77 or Route 30. I especially appreciate the fact there arent many red lights to cause unnecessary delays while you are commuting to wherever it is you want to go.

Though we dont have the "big box" discount department stores, there is an adequate amount of smaller stores for quick pick up of everyday needs. There are also some excellant eateries and restaurants and fast food outlets in our area.

The school system in Canton Local is a very good one! Our graduates are well poised to go on to very successful careers and lives due to the solid education they have received here.

Several churches call the Canton South area home also. Our residents have many options as to where they would like to attend services.

Fresh clean air; peaceful, safe and quiet neighborhoods.... ahhhh! Life is great in Canton South.

What are some of the things you especially enjoy about our area?

Hello fellow Canton South residents!

I've often wondered lately if anyone would care to chat about living in the Canton South area, and decided to start a blog page in order to find out. Though this blog isnt about me, it still might be best if you were introduced to me and knew at least a little bit about me. I would welcome as much information about yourself as you would care to share.

My name is Jim Dvorovy, and I am a Realtor with Cutler Real Estate.

I graduated from Canton South High School in 1965, after attending four years from '61 -'65. The Viet Nam war was a looming factor back then for all high school graduates. Decent paying jobs were very difficult to come by for anyone that had a 1A draft classification. I enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps in May of '66, in order to gain schooling as an electronics radar technician. After I got out of the service, I lived in the city of Canton from the summer of 1970 until the summer of 1977, when I moved to a little home of my own on Sherman Church Rd. I've lived in the Canton South area ever since then.

Canton South has so many nice things to offer residents. I hope we can share some of our best memories and reasons for living here.

I would appreciate comments about your experience living in the Canton South area. Thanks!
